Exciting news! You are cordially invited to participate in the formation of the shiny new Joseph Campbell Foundation Mythological RoundTable® of Eugene. Come to the introductory meeting!
When: Tuesday, August 19th at 7:00 p.m.
Where: We’ll be meeting at the Bier Stein, 1591 Willamette Street, here in Eugene. Look for me in the large back room (where the fireplace is).
Cost: Free–(except for any thirst-quenching beverages you may wish to obtain).
If you have an interest in, a curiosity about, or a passion for mythology, I encourage you to attend this meeting. This group will be focused on general comparative mythology, i.e. myths from around the world both past and present. I earned both my masters and my doctorate at Pacifica Graduate Institute which houses the Joseph Campbell archives. Additionally, as a feminist mythologist, because my specialties center upon reclaiming women and mythology, goddess studies, and reinstating balanced sustainable myths, in the future certain members may wish to form a complementary women’s only mythological studies group. Let’s meet and explore the wide world of mythology!
There are many JCF Mythological RoundTable® groups or circles throughout the world. Membership and meetings of the circle are always free. Membership in the Joseph Campbell Foundation and/or donations to that international organization are welcomed and much appreciated. Mythological RoundTable® members get together to share, deepen and explore their passion for mythology, explore the mythological work of Joseph Campbell and others, and become more aware of the myths that constantly swirl around us. This can include viewing films with mythological storylines, museum visits, discussions of iconography, group discussions of particular mythological characters or themes, etc.
See you soon!
